Welcome to AFRIPOL
Building a safer, more secure Africa
Our Mandate
AFRIPOL builds a safer, more unified Africa by empowering law enforcement agencies across the continent to combat transnational crime.
AFRIPOL is the African Union’s official mechanism for promoting police cooperation among Member States. Its core mission is to support the prevention and fight against organized transnational crime, terrorism, and cybercrime. Through capacity-building, coordination, and information-sharing, AFRIPOL strengthens the operational capabilities of national police services. By doing so, it enables African law enforcement agencies to respond more effectively to the evolving and interconnected security threats facing the continent.
What is AFRIPOL?
The African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation (AFRIPOL) is the technical institution of the African Union mandated to strengthen and harmonise the capacities of law enforcement agencies across Member States. Its mission is to support African police services in preventing and combating transnational organised crime, terrorism, cybercrime, and other emerging threats to continental security.
