Algiers, Algeria, 03 March 2018: The Euro-Mediterranean Police Cooperation for Citizen Security (EUROMED) in collaboration with African Union Mechanism for Police Cooperation (AFRIPOL) and the Algerian Police Directorate General of National Security, held its 3rd Police exchange meeting for EUROMED Police IV project from 27 February to 1st  March 2018, at AFRIPOL headquarters in Algiers-Algeria.

The President of the AFRIPOL General Assembly,  Director General of Algerian Police, H. E Major General Abdelghani HAMEL, welcomes the conclusion of the meeting that brought together police experts from the EUROMED region namely: Algeria, France, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Netherlands, Palestine, Romania,  Spain and Tunisia, as well as other organization such as the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (EUROPOL), the African Centre for the Study and Research on Terrorism(CAERT) and  AFRIPOL. Experts from Facebook, Google and twitter were also in attendance.
 
Police experts had the opportunity to discuss issues related to the collection of digital evidence and the challenges of preventing and combating transnational organized crime and cyber-terrorism. The meeting also discussed an evaluation questionnaire that will provide new information to identify the main threats faced by the Euro-Mediterranean region.
 
 
 
The meeting was an important opportunity for AFRIPOL to contribution to the discussion and exchanges views with EUROMED and other police agencies in the Mediterranean region, as terrorism and organised crime constitute a major threat to regional and international peace, security and development.
