Within the framework of strengthening the cooperation between AFRIPOL and Germany, the Ag Executive Director of AFRIPOL received today H.E. Elisabeth Wolbers, the Ambassador of Germany in Algiers with a delegation from GIZ Addis Ababa Office as well as the GIZ Algiers Director Mrs Martina Vahlhaus.
This two-day’s meeting will focus on the assessment of the partnership between AFRIPOL & GIZ and the exploration of the future engagement between both parties in order to achieve common goals in combatting transnational organized crimes and terrorism.
Other important partners joined the meeting (physically or virtually) including African Union entities and international organizations: INTERPOL Support Programme for the African Union in relation to AFRIPOL ISPA, the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training CEPOL, the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa CISSA and the Political Affairs and Peace and Security of the African Union.
During the meeting, both parties agreed on the importance of this partnership and reiterated their willingness to consolidate their cooperation for the benefit of African union member States and for the security at regional and global levels.
