AFRIPOL Receives Delegation from the People’s Republic of China
On 11 September 2025, the AFRIPOL Secretariat received a delegation from the People’s Republic of China to advance discussions on bilateral cooperation.
The delegation was led by H.E. Minister Zhang Wei, Deputy Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Commission, accompanied by members of the Embassy of China in Algiers, including the Chief Police Attaché. They were received by H.E. Jalel Chelba, Acting Executive Director of AFRIPOL, together with senior officials from the Secretariat.
Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the fields of prevention and the fight against transnational organized crime, cybercrime, and terrorism. Both sides underlined the importance of coordinated efforts to address these common security challenges and agreed to pursue joint initiatives in support of African Member States.
