AFRIPOL at the 27th INTERPOL African Regional Conference
AFRIPOL participated in the 27th INTERPOL African Regional Conference, held in Cape Town, South Africa, from 27 to 29 August 2025. On behalf of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, the Ag Executive Director delivered the opening statement, reaffirming Africa’s collective commitment to strengthening international police cooperation against transnational crime, terrorism, and cyber threats.
The Conference provided an opportunity to review progress, adopt new recommendations, and exchange on key priorities for enhancing security across the continent. AFRIPOL’s contributions were highlighted both in the drafting of strategic guidelines and in operational achievements, demonstrating its growing role in advancing cooperation between African police institutions and global partners.
On the margins of the event, AFRIPOL also held high-level consultations with INTERPOL leadership on the future of their partnership. These discussions focused on building on past achievements and exploring new areas of cooperation to better support Member States.
