A training workshop on motor vehicle theft investigations in Africa is taking place from 2 to 5 September 2024 in Dakar, Senegal. 15 Representatives of law enforcement services from African countries are attending this event, including Senegal, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Cape Verde, Republic of Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Gambia, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Benin, Togo and Côte d’Ivoire.
The workshop that is organized jointly by AFRIPOL and INTERPOL aims to strengthen the detection and investigation capacities of police officers in the area of motor vehicle theft, which continues to grow across the different regions of Africa, negatively impacting the continent’s security and economy.
This action is part of AFRIPOL’s strategy to strengthen operational capacities, promote cooperation and coordination between the police services of the member states of the African Union, for a better control of aspects related to the security challenges faced by law enforcement services across the continent.
