AFRIPOL Hosts EUROMED Police Delegation to Discuss Future Cooperation

Algiers, 20 February 2025 – A delegation from EUROMED Police, led by Ms. Emese Horvaczy, Project Manager, and Ms. Anna Hieropolitanska, Project Officer, visited AFRIPOL Headquarters today to engage in strategic discussions on the upcoming sixth phase of the project. The delegation was received by the Ag Executive Director of AFRIPOL, alongside senior officials.

The meeting provided a platform to exchange insights on the project’s objectives, progress, and potential areas of collaboration between AFRIPOL and EUROMED Police in the field of law enforcement cooperation. Ms. Horvaczy and her team outlined the strategic priorities of the sixth phase, highlighting opportunities for enhanced engagement between AFRIPOL and EUROMED Police to reinforce police cooperation at both continental and interregional levels. AFRIPOL’s leadership welcomed the initiative and stressed the importance of joint efforts to build the capacity of law enforcement agencies across African Union Member States, particularly through specialized training programs and knowledge exchange initiatives.

This visit reinforces the growing partnership between AFRIPOL and EUROMED Police, paving the way for closer coordination on security challenges affecting Africa and the Mena region.
