The 4th Training of Trainers Session on Document Fraud, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from March 13-17, 2023, was a five-day intensive program that provided practical and operational training to officials from thirteen African Union member states.
The training focused on a range of issues, such as verification of travel documents, residency documents, bank cards, banknotes, and more.
Organized jointly by AFRIPOL Center of Excellence in Forensics and the German Federal Police, this Training of Trainers program aims to produce a multiplier effect by transferring knowledge related to document verification to a higher number of front-line officers of participating law enforcement agencies. By strengthening the operational capacities of member states in the area of border control and combatting transnational organized crime, terrorism, and other forms of criminality, the objective of the program is to enhance the collective ability of African nations to tackle these critical issues.
